Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 “BLACK”

Exclusive streaming on Disney+ from 4:00 p.m. (JST) on Wednesday, October 29

Star Wars: Visions is a major Lucasfilm project in which globally acclaimed animation studios depict new visions of Star Wars through the unique perspectives and ideas of their creators. In Volume 3, nine animation studios from Japan were selected to produce nine short films.

“BLACK”

The protagonist of this work is a nameless stormtrooper.
This short film explores the inner world and psychology of a stormtrooper in the midst of battle, delving into the character’s spiritual conflicts between past and present, light and dark, life and death.

Directed by Shinya Ohira, one of Japan’s foremost animators known for his overwhelming sense of world-building and draftsmanship, this film presents a must-see, original “vision” that reveals an untold story of the Empire’s stormtroopers—an indispensable presence in Star Wars.
