Narihira Takeru is a high school delinquent, a loner who constantly gets into fights. When he's not fighting, he spends his days crushing on Tsukimiya, a mysterious girl who's appeared repeatedly in his dreams.

One day, a sudden accident sends Takeru plunging over a cliff. When he comes to, he finds himself in a technologically advanced version of ancient Kyoto called ""Denji Heian-kyo."" It turns out to be an alternate world protected by the mightiest of onmyoji--Abeno Seimei. And what's more, the girl of his dreams Tsukimiya really exists here!

Takeru is elated over this fateful encounter he'd been dreaming about, but then he finds himself caught in a sudden outbreak of the black mist, inside which both he and Tsukimiya lose their lives to a monster called an oni. The next instant, however, he once again wakes up in Denji Heian-kyo.

Eventually Takeru realizes he's traveled back in time. He makes up his mind to learn onmyo techniques from Abeno Seimei, so he can fight back as an onmyoji against the future in which Tsukimiya loses her life!"
